Newcastle 2020 Summer Athletic Policy

Newcastle Racers

2020 Summer Athletic Policy

I hope that all is well with you and your family during these trying times. We are excited for the Fall as we begin to open our facilities for our student athletes. Please know that our priority is our student athlete’s safety. In light of the current situation regarding COVID-19 the Newcastle Administrative team has released the following guidelines for the summer of 2020. Questions on the policy can be directed to the head coach of your sport or to the Athletic Director, Chris McKenzie, cmckenzie@newcastle.k12.ok.us  The OSSAA board voted to reject a proposal to give every school a uniform set of policies, so this policy has been made by NPS for the health and safety of all people involved.

We also have been working hand and hand with Norman Regional Hospital/OrthoCentral and our athletic trainer, Delaney Gray, to come up with safety guidelines to put in place for the return to our facilities. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, there will be no mass physical day this year. Every student athlete needs to obtain an OSSAA sport physical by July 13th, 2020. Copies of these forms can be found at https://newcastleathletics.rankonesport.com/Images/Logos/OSSAAPhysicalForm2017.pdf

Please fill out the first page prior to taking it to your physician’s office. The physician will fill out the second page and give both pages back to you. These can be submitted via email to our athletic trainer, Delaney Gray at dgray@newcastle.k12.ok.us.
